  VALYNNE MAETANI’s Remnants of the Rising Sun won the first annual New Visions Award for the best fantasy, SF, or mystery YA by an author of color who has not previously published a novel for that age group. Maetani will received a $1,000 grant and a publishing contract with Tu Books.

Harris & CHRISTOPHER GOLDEN delivered Inheritance, the second Cemetery Girl novel, to Buchanan. Golden sold near-future thriller Tin Men to Mark Tavani at Ballantine Bantam Dell and to Headline in the UK via Howard Morhaim. Film rights were optioned by Warner Bros. on behalf of Peter Chernin.
